I painted this in late Spring of 2024. This is the French Pyrenees. This was my first trip to the mountains after my accident. Being back in the mountains was a beautiful tonic for my soul.
This view is looking south towards the Spanish border. When I arrived to paint the scene, the clouds were not much higher than the tree height but patience paid off as the clouds lifted during the day revealing a beautiful blue sky and snowy peaks into the distance. The sun was shining its light across the high meadows turning the grass a gorgeous yellow green and creating the most incredible reflection on the lake.
